Carrefour extends lease agreement in Galeria Niwa

Carrefour Polska, one of the leaders of the retail sector in Poland, has extended its lease agreement with Galeria Niwa for the next few years. This decision proves that the shopping center in Oświęcim is perceived as an attractive location for popular tenants on the Polish market. This is due, among others, to the high level of visit rate and the constantly expanding offer of the tenant mix.

‘We are very happy to continue cooperation with such a popular brand in Poland and abroad. The decision to extend the agreement gives Galeria Niwa the opportunity to provide its customers with an attractive offer of groceries (food products) and sales & purchase-related services.’ - says Katarzyna Zegar, Director of Galeria Niwa. ‘A strong brand of a food operator and entertainment are two factors which, combined with the fashion offer, attract customers to the shopping center to ensure its success. Carrefour operates very well in our concept, which translates into a high visit rate to the shopping center and a constantly growing group of loyal customers,’ adds Anna Polak, Head of Leasing at Master Management Group.

‘The extension of the lease agreement in Galeria Niwa was determined by the popularity of our store and its good location in the most visited and largest shopping center in Oświęcim. As one of the key and largest food operators in the city, we have been in Niva for 10 years. We are constantly working on improvements for our customers, introducing technological innovations, new products and services in line with consumer trends. Also in the Carrefour store in Niva, customers can already use the Click & Collect service, which gives them the opportunity to collect non-food products ordered on the Carrefour.pl platform, in their store close to home.’ - comments Agnieszka Prędka, Head of Lease Management & Expansion at Carrefour Polska.

Carrefour Polska is the omnichannel retail chain, with almost 900 stores in Poland, in five formats: hipermarkets, supermarkets, local and specialized stores and an online store. Carrefour is also an owner of 20 shopping centers in Poland, with a total space of 230 000 s.qm. GLA and the chain of 40 petrol stations.

Galeria Niwa combines fashion, entertainment and services in a well-known and attractive location. In the 14,000 sq. m, 2-storey complex, customers have a choice of over 50 Polish and foreign brands including H&M, CCC, Orsay, Reserved or House, as well as shopping islands selling fashion and accessories. The shopping center features a children's playground, an attractive dining offer and a restaurant garden open during the summer. Planet Cinema with four air-conditioned screening rooms shows 2D and 3D movies.
